What skin concerns can skin needling treat?

Does skin needling hurt?
Most clients find skin needling tolerable. You might feel a slight prickle sensation or mild discomfort during the treatment, but it’s very tolerable. I always ensure you’re comfortable throughout the session.
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on your skin goals. Many clients see a glow just after just one session but for optimal results a course of sessions is required and how many sessions will depend on skin concerns we are treating.
What does the recovery process look like?
After skin needling, your skin may appear slightly red, similar to a mild sunburn. This usually fades within 24-48 hours. You might also experience some mild dryness or flaking as your skin begins to renew itself.
why we don't combine skin needling with led?
Laser Skin & Body Clinic are one of many clinics who suggest to not use Skin Needling and LED together as it can hinder Skin Needling results.
Skin Needling and LED cancel each other out when combined together. We must let skin needling micro injuries naturally heal alone as its part of the process to stimulate collagen and elastin.
Skin Needling is natural healing – by using LED we are not using the term natural healing.
LED Therapy is a popular and effective treatment to heal many skin conditions. After Skin Needling, I suggest waiting at least two weeks before LED Therapy.
Before & aftercare
Before Your Treatment:
- Arrive with clean skin—no makeup or moisturiser.
- Avoid active skincare products (like retinol or acids) for 48 hours prior.
- Stay out of the sun and avoid tanning for at least one week.
- Do not apply numbing cream! Applying numbing cream before skin needling is not ideal because numbing creams contain ingredients that constrict the blood vessels in the skin. The intentional creation of micro-injuries in the skin is crucial to stimulate collagen production and skin rejuvenation. Constricted blood vessels may hinder the natural healing response by limiting blood flow to the targeted areas.
After Your Treatment:
- Keep your skin hydrated with a gentle moisturiser.
- Avoid makeup for the first 24 hours.
- Use a physical sunscreen daily to protect your skin.
- Skip intense workouts, saunas, and hot showers for 48 hours.
